The challenge in finding the best identity fraud protection program is many companies use this term – but the quality of the programs vary greatly. In the case of identity fraud you want the best program available.

I have been offered identity fraud protections by my credit card companies and my bank. The problem with these type of programs is they are very limited in their features. When you pull the covers back and look that the details – all of these types of programs do is really protect you from someone using your credit card – but not true identity protection.

The best identity fraud protection, and the one I use is Lifelock. I am sure you have heard the Lifelock commercials where the owner gives his social security number. You may have also heard people attacking him and his program. The reason for this is Lifelock is the clear leader in this market and everyone tries to knock off the leader.

So what does Lifelock actually do when you become a member:

They lock-down your credit reports. The do this by contacting the big 3 credit agencies and do not allow them to give out your credit info to anyone or any company without your permission. So if someone tries to open a credit account using your name – that company can not pull your credit file. Without seeing your credit file – no one will open an account. When you are applying for credit you will individually authorize this release

They stop your name from being given to credit card companies. How many credit card offers do you get in your mail each week? Did you know that these companies pay the credit agencies for your information? Lifelock contacts these agencies and blocks your information from being released.

Does it work? Without a doubt. Thankfully I have never had my identity stolen – but I have experienced the above. I also love their $1 million dollar guarantee! If someone takes your identity while you are a Lifelock member, they will pay up to $1 million to fix it and pay you for your troubles.

Click the banner below to learn more. Trust me – you will sleep better knowing you have solid protection.

In this day and age it is very important that your do everything possible to protect your identity.

If you have ever been online you are at a high risk for identity theft. How? Even if you have the lastest and greates security programs loaded on your computer, the real good and evil identity thiefs are always trying to stay one step ahead.

What is even more frightening is this: People spend $100s’ of dollars every year to protect their computers but never spend any money on the biggest place where identities get stolen – their mailboxes!
Yes, your mailbox contains all of the information required to steal your identity. Would you even notice a piece of mail from Des Moines Marketing or even Washington DC Web Design that was gone from your mailbox or that was never delivered? Most people would not. But in your physical mail is all of the information required to do some serious damage to your identity.
Since there is no 100% way you can prevent the possibility of your identity being stolen, the best thing to do is to get some Identity Fraud Protection.
